ARC delivery and disclosure

We provide free digital review copies of selected titles in exchange for honest reviews. Review copies are supplied only through Amazon Send to Kindle. We do not send downloadable EPUB or PDF attachments, and we do not provide direct file download links through this programme.

Applicants must provide a valid Send to Kindle email address linked to their Amazon account. Review copies are intended for delivery within Amazon’s Kindle ecosystem, including Kindle devices and compatible Kindle apps. This approach reduces casual file sharing, though no digital delivery method can remove that risk entirely.

Reviewers are under no obligation to leave a positive review. We ask only that any review reflects a genuine reading experience. See our article on why honest reviews matter.

If you received a free copy, you must include a clear disclosure when posting a review. For example:

“I received a free copy of this book from Synthos Press in exchange for an honest review.”

This applies across Amazon, Goodreads, personal blogs, newsletters, social media, and any other platform where the review appears. The requirement exists so readers can make informed decisions and is consistent with CMA guidance.

Reviewer responsibilities

• Provide a valid Send to Kindle email address that can receive personal documents.
• Keep ARC copies for personal review use only and do not forward or redistribute them.
• Include a clear disclosure if a review is published.
• Understand that receiving a free copy does not create any obligation to leave a favourable review.

What we will never do

• Ask for or imply that a positive review is expected.
• Suppress or ignore genuine negative reviews.
• Promote reviews that conceal a commercial connection.
• Offer any incentive beyond the review copy itself.
• Distribute ARC files as open attachments or public download links.

Fake and misleading reviews

We do not solicit, submit, or knowingly publish fake reviews. We maintain a record of review-copy recipients and supplied titles as part of normal programme administration.

Your personal data

When you apply to the ARC programme, we collect your name, email address, Send to Kindle email address, and preferred review platform. This information is used only to administer the programme and deliver review copies. We do not share it with third parties except where delivery depends on Amazon’s Send to Kindle service. Reviewer records are retained for two years from the date of application, after which they are deleted. You may request deletion at any time by emailing arc@synthospress.co.uk.
